My Girlfriend UFO edition by James Fairchild Literature Fiction eBooks
I checked "predictable" for the "How would you describe the plot of this book?" review question because it didn't have a "this book has no plot" option. The premise of the book is a really good idea for a novel. A former fighter pilot in a small plane manages to force a UFO to crash and buries it and its crew on his ranch.
But the book written from that premise has no plot. No narrative arc. I don't want to do spoilers, but there's no conflict, either internal or external. No one has any hard choices to make. It's chock full of serendipity. Exposition is mostly along the lines of "While x was sleeping, I had time to think about y's life story." The narrator keeps saying things like, paraphrasing, "I didn't know my life would soon change forever," and then nothing very significant happens.
One character, for example, very improbably is qualified to fly a Gulf Stream jet. The characters wind up on a Gulf Stream jet. And ... nothing happens!
The characters are all unbelievable. From the troubled, grief-ridden, possibly suicidal ranch girl turned amazingly hot model and pilot who jumps into the sack at every opportunity with the narcissistic, colorless, narrator to the CIA big wig uncle who can make the unbelievable happen because, you know, he's a CIA operative. The only halfway developed character is dead.
I don't like to give one-star reviews because I think authors deserve credit just for finishing a novel. But Mr. Fairchild could sure use an editor.

My Girlfriend UFO edition by James Fairchild Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This is a fast paced book with multiple layers of intrigue and twists throughout. The death of familiy member is the catalyst to uncovering the mystery of the UFO with a little bit of love and history thrown to keep the story moving. A good fun read, with the research behind it to make it almost seem as if it was from a real story.
This book has all the essential elements of a mystery thriller, including a determined hero, assisted by his beautiful ex girlfriend who reveals hidden talents, thrust into an unexpected search that is complicated by government bureacracies including the WWII OSS, evil forces and UFO's. The pace is quick and you'll be surprised by the plot twists and turns. A great read!
